Celebrating Refugee Week 2025
Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts & culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. This year it will be celebrated from 16th - 22nd June.
Each year's refugee week has a particular theme; this time it is "Community as a superpower" - as a community sports club this is a message we stand behind firmly. One of our players, Akakhel Mashal, raised the idea of a cricket match between a Percy Main team and a team of refugees from the Walking With charity in Wallsend; we thought it sounded fantastic.
