Follow these guidelines, and you and your friends will all be able to enjoy your cricket to the full.
Percy Main Junior Players should:
  • Respect the rights of every other player to play cricket with you.
  • Expect to be treated with respect, courtesy and consideration by your coach
  • THINK SAFETY DURING ALL COACHING SESSIONS, PRACTICES AND DRILLS!!
  • Respect and listen carefully to your coaches’ instructions at all times – they may be about your personal safety!
  • Take responsibility for your own actions:
  • Wear appropriate clothing – for personal comfort, warmth and safety; wear sun cream/hats during sunny day
  • Arrive punctually for your sessions – be ready to go at the appropriate time
  • If you cannot make a session, please advise the coach at the very earliest opportunity.
  • Always bring and wear the right safety equipment at all times – if you are not sure, ask your coach!
  • If you have issues with the direction of the coaching programme or anything that has happened within it, please discuss with Tony (involving parents as well if you would like); if further discussions are needed, this can then be raised in committee, and ultimately resolved with the Club Welfare Officer.
  • Percy Main Club will not tolerate bullying of any kind
    • If you have a problem, or if you see bullying going on, please tell our welfare officer Paddy Rathbone, or if you prefer any of the other coaches.
    • We will listen and appropriate action will be taken as governed by club constitution and Safe Hands guidelines.
  • Always accept Umpire’s decisions
    • Without dissent or argument. Please accept the decision, and walk from the wicket without hitting the ground, hitting your pads, and without shaking your head. This is an ECB guideline and failure to comply with this could result in a match ban. We understand disappointment, but you must learn to deal with it appropriately.
  • Never abuse or taunt an opponent
  • Always encourage a team mate, even if they make a mistake – they have not done it deliberately!
  • Respect the club’s equipment, and that of each other.
